FIRST DATE WITH BERLIN

We make the first appointment with Berlin at the square Gendarmenmarkt !

This is the most beautiful square in Berlin, built in the Italian style and possessing the French charm .

You can see the perfection of the architecture proportions at once. Beyond two cathedrals: the catholic and the protestant one, you can see the building of the Concert Hall, which is used to be a theater before the WWII.

The square was an attraction point for the Berlin Bohemia . Some of them were a composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and a fairy-tale writer Ernst Hoffmann.

A small stroll along Gendarmenmarkt is only the beginning of our tour.

Afterwards we will follow to the famous Babelplatz (Babel Square) , where we can not only see the architectural masterpieces of the XVIII and XIX centuries, but also the Book burning memorial .

On the opposite sight we can visit the Berlin Cathedral – the biggest protestant cathedral in Europe.

You will learn some curious stories about this building. Now we come across to the Museum Island and get some tips about the exhibitions , which can be interesting for you, while choosing a particular museum.

Now we suggest you to investigate a narrow streets of the Berlin Mitte which was a handicraft settlement till 1918.

While walking you will know the history of this part of the city through the history of human lives. Most Jews lived here before the WWII. The Synagogue built in Mauritian style is one of the sights here. We will take a look at this magnificent building, and then follow to the Friedrichstraße , and finally turn to the right and find ourselves at the Brandenburg Gate !

The crown of our tour is rising to the Reichstag ́s huge glass dome! Please mind, you don ́t have a simple city tour , you have the first date with Berlin!

BERLIN ROUND TRIP

Like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Colosseum in Rome or the Tower of London, the Brandenburg Gate is the symbol of Berlin .

It is the most recognizable Berlin sight, which made the beginning of the Berlin classical architectural style .

It is situated in the heart of the city , and followed by the Unter den Linden Allee, which connected the Gate with the former King ́s Residence.

Besides, it is the highest construction on the Paris Square. The height is a bit more than a twenty-five meters.

The meeting point for our round-trip is the Brandenburg Gate! The gate is a kind of boarder between West and East Berlin! During the tour we give you a possibility to get to know the most famous sights of both parts!

POTSDAMER PLATZ AND LEGOLAND

In the beginning of the 20th century the architect Mies van der Rohe invented the skyscraper building technology. The first skyscraper – a massive crystal construction – was planed in 1928. Unfortunately, the project was not successfully completed.

However, the idea was realized only in the beginning of 2000-s. A huge area stayed empty at the cross of the Tiergarten and the Brandenburg Gate after the Berlin Wall demolition and reunification.

The authorities chose this part of the city for the skyscraper complex. Now it is a well-known Potsdamer Platz !

The tour is devoted to the masterpieces of the modern architects. Besides the Postdamer Platz, you are going to see the Reichstag ́s new glass dome , the German Chancellery , the Carillon , the Berlin Philarmonie , the New National Gallery and the Scandinavian Embassies.

The tour is not just about the modern architecture . It ́s about the history of the city , about its people and their stories .

DIVIDED CITY

The city divided by the Wall: History and Culture of West – & East-Berlin

«Where was the Wall?» – one of the most casual questions asked by the tourists. During the excursion we will not only make our way along the Berlin Wall, but we will also visit the Museum of the Wall and the Checkpoint Charlie !

We are ready to show you places, that are hidden from the touristic eyes! The regime was finished with the end of the WWII .

The symbolic end of the WWII is the raising the Soviet flag over the Reichstag . We plan to finish our tour in this symbolic place.

CHARLOTTENBURG PALACE AND COURT INTRIGUES

The first King of Prussia Frederick I. was not only a successful politician of his time, who had been constantly enlarging his kingdom through inviting talented and intelligent people from abroad. A great politician was fond of fine leisure .

The palace amusements played great role in his life. His second spouse, the queen Sophie-Charlotte was not excited about the court life. The lady was fascinated by the education.

She needed her quite life, far from the court. For this very reason the King decided to build a country residence for her in the village, named Litzenburg.

After her death Litzenburg was renamed to Charlottenburg .

We invite you to visit the Charlottenburg Palace , to walk along the wonderful palace park and to listen to spectacular stories about the life of the Prussian kings and queens .

In the twenties of the XX century Charlottenburg became a part of Berlin, and got the name: “Main East Railway Station”. Who were these people, which arrived here? How did they live? How did Berlin meet them?

You will dive in the atmosphere of both periods and will be surprised about your experiences in the end of the tour.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE THIRD REICH

Berlin was always considered to be one of the most tolerant cities in Europe .

Our tour is one of the attempts to answer the question: How did the national-socialist come to the power? Which role did Berlin play during the Third Reich?

The meeting point is the exhibition “Topography of Terror”. Then we follow to the architectural monuments of this period: the Ministry of Aviation , the Reichsbank and some others. We will find it out, where the New Reich Chancellery , known also as the Führer ́s abode , was situated.

You will get know, what happened with the project by the Hitler ́s favorite architect Albert Speer “Germany – the capital of the world” ( Welthauptstadt Germania )?

How did the architecture express the ideology of those times?

To crown the tour we will rise to the Reichstag ́s glass dome ! There are number of war stories concerning the Reichstag, which we would like to share with you !

ROUND WANNSEE: FAMOUS VILLAS AND THEIR HISTORY

THE HISTORY OF THE JEWISH BERLIN

Acquaintance with Berlin is the acquaintance with its variety !

The Hacke ́s Market is a magnificent architectural complex. Numerous narrow streets are wreathing it. This is a quarter, mostly inhabited by Jews before WWII. .

The symbol of this district is the famous synagogue, built in the Moorish style .

We will visit the first Jewish Gymnasium , founded by Mose Mendelson , a great philosopher and a grand-father of the famous composer.

We will tell you some ridiculous stories from his life, and about some other famous Jewish families in the city.

Nearby we will see the Memorial of the Jewish cemetery .

Afterwards we follow to the Monument in the Rosenstrasse devoted to the German wives, who saved their husbands.

The atmosphere of this quarter is penetrated with fascinating life stories of its inhabitants.
