In the X century Slavians founded a small settlement on the river Havel and named it „Potstumi“, which means „Under the oaks“.

Later it was conquered by Germans, who kept the name, but started to pronounce it differently: Potsdam!

Nowadays, Potsdam is mostly known and attracts tourists as the Prussian Versailles due to the marvellous Sanssouci Palace and Park!
Nevertheless, one should not forget that there is much more to discover here!

The city is a real historical treasure case: the Dutch Quarter, the New and Old Market Squares, the Garnison Church, the Cecilienhof Palace – the place of the Potsdam Conference and much more attractions are waiting for you!
